Day 6: Erfurt | Wartburg | Eisenach

  • We'll travel to the formidable Wartburg Castle where Luther found refuge during the Imperial Ban. The castle was built in the 11th century and is where Luther translated the New Testament in the years 1521-1522. During our visit, we'll will see the “Luther Stube". After lunch on your own, we'll take a short drive to Eisenach, birth place of Johan Sebastian Bach, whose birth house we will visit to listen to some of his marvelous music played on historical instruments. On our way back to the hotel for dinner, we'll also visit the Luther House museum.
